Welcome to the Georgia Southern University Planetarium!

Our planetarium is a teaching astronomy laboratory in the Department of Physics where university students are taught.

The planetarium is equipped with a Digistar 4 full dome digital planetarium system. Our students and visitors now experience 21st century technology that can take them out to the edge of the known universe!

During the fall and spring semesters we offer educational planetarium presentations for school and public groups, grades Pre-K - 12, home school groups, and adults at no charge certain weekdays by reservation only. To see what shows are available and how to make a reservation, please click on the Educational Shows link in the left column. We also offer several public events during spring and fall semesters for all ages, please click on the Public Events link in the left column.

Currently we can seat 70 visitors with unidirectional seating. For the hearing impaired, we have "Light-Talk" (glow in the dark) gloves for your interpreter to sign with during shows. We also have astronomy tactiles for visually impaired visitors.

Our lobby is equipped with ViewSpace (undergoing renovations at this time) a streaming multimedia presentation from the Space Telescope Science Institute. http://hubblesource.stsci.edu/exhibits/self-update/viewspace/ Enjoy the daily updates from the Hubble Space Telescope and missions into our solar system and beyond.
