POLICIES
The internship program is available to all current students in good standing at the department of geology and geography who are looking for internship opportunities. The website also provides job information for our students.
PURPOSES
1. To provide students with opportunities to gain work experience and work on real geologic/geographic problems and applications.
2. To provide internship hosts (companies or organizations) with some student help on geologic/geographic work.
INTERNSHIP COURSE
The internship allows students to work in a professional setting related to their chosen concentration in the field. Undergraduate students can earn between 1-6 credits for internships approved by their academic advisor and the Department’s Internship Director. Students must maintain contact with the Internship Director through the course of the internship work, and must submit a written report and a work product at the end of the project. Internship credits can be used for elective credit only and may not substitute for specific degree requirements.
