Construction Management and Civil Engineering Technology

Welcome to the Department of Construction Management and Civil Engineering Technology (CMCET).

The department offers two accredited degree programs with courses being taught by highly qualified faculty. Demographic shifts and increasing global population have resulted in very high demand for graduates that have degrees specializing in the Built Environment. Civil Engineering Technology and Construction Management are two such degrees.

The Construction Management (CM) program prepares graduates for careers as construction project managers, estimators, schedulers, contract administrators, and various executive-level positions in the construction industry. Graduates are employed by major national and international companies that specialize in commercial, industrial, or residential construction and construction/program management.

Civil Engineering Technology (CET) Graduates are well prepared for careers in the environmental, structural, and transportation areas of the discipline in the local, state, regional, national, and international markets. Graduates are employed in a wide range of positions as consultants and engineers for small and major corporate and government entities.

CET graduates are needed around the globe to address increasing infrastructure demands such as natural disaster mitigation, hydroelectric power, water supply and treatment, roads and bridges, and the design of other important elements of the built environment.

The CMCET department has approximately 500 students enrolled in the CM program and over 130 students enrolled in the CET program. Students are taught in modern laboratories using state-of-the-art computer software for estimating, scheduling, online project management, construction law, structural analysis, and environmental practices.
