About the CET Curriculum The Civil Engineering Technology curriculum at Georgia Southern University is designed to give students the knowledge and skills needed to enter the field of civil engineering as practitioners, while meeting all the requirements to earn a Bachelor of Science degree. To earn that degree, the student will complete a course of study that is divided into nine academic areas. Six of those areas, called the Core Curriculum, are common to all undergraduate degree programs. The core curriculum covers the topics of mathematics, science, English, humanities and social sciences. Another area, called the Additional Requirements, contains courses on health and physical activities, and university orientation. The other two areas include courses that are related to the civil engineering technology discipline. One area includes the engineering science courses (designated by prefix TENS) that form the foundations for the specific CET courses, while the other area includes courses specific to the CET degree (designated by prefix TCET).
