How Do I Apply?

To complete your application, follow these steps:

  1. Download and print the Application Form (MSWord or PDF)
  2. Fill out the form completely and legibly
  3. Write the essay requested in item #17 of the application form
  4. Obtain a copy of your college transcript (photocopy or print out is acceptable)
  5. Download and print two copies of the Recommendation Form (MSWord or PDF)
  6. Ask two people who are familiar with your scientific abilities (preferably science professors) to fill out the recommendation form, place it in an envelope, seal it, sign across the seal, and return to you
  7. Mail your complete application packet including your completed application, essay, transcript, and two letters of recommendation to:

  8. Make sure your application is postmarked no later than March 21, 2008.

To be eligible to participate in the Chemistry & Biology REU Program at Georgia Southern University, you must

  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident
  • Be a sophomore, junior, or senior in the Fall of 2008
  • Agree to work full-time and not hold an outside job during the period of the program
