Chemistry Facilities

In Fall '03 we moved into the new Nursing and Chemistry Building.  We are delighted to be in this new facility, which houses the Department of Chemistry and the School of Nursing.

The new facility is considerably larger than the old building:

5 Classrooms with LCD projectors and A/V presentation equipment
    4 General/Environmental Chemistry Labs
    2 Organic Chemistry Labs
    a Biochemistry Lab
    an Analytical Lab
    a Physical Chemistry Lab
    an Instrumentation Lab
    2 Advanced Course Labs
    a Laser Research Lab
    an NMR Facility
a Computer Lab (see details below)
    a Molecular Modelling lab
    16 Faculty Research Labs
    a Glassblowing/Fabrication Lab
(and a Cinnamon Street Bakery on the ground floor!)

Computer Lab:

    16 student terminals (Pentium 4 PC / Windows2000Pro, 1 with student scanner)
1 faculty terminal (Pentium 4 PC / Windows2000Pro with scanner and HP800 poster printer)
    laserprinter (networked)
    overhead LCD projection system
    handicap accessible

Molecular Modelling Lab:

1 Silcon Graphics O2-workstation with Spartan computation/analysis software
    1 Axil workstation
    2 Macintosh G3's
