• Established positive working relationships with the Provost’s Office, Deans, Department Chairs, and individual Faculty. Provided leadership for developing a strategic plan for the College within Georgia Southern’s reclassification as a Doctoral/Research University. Managed the existing College budget, and developed a fiscal-year budget. Monitored and upheld the academic, personnel, and fiscal policies of the College.
• Key projects initiated:
1. Initiated a review of each Department’s policies and procedures for the evaluation of their faculty, to align their policies with the newly approved College guidelines.
2. Facilitated the implementation of a plan to improve the College’s retention, progression, and graduation rates.
3. Provided leadership in developing an advancement plan for the College.
Associate Dean of Faculty and Research Programs, COS T, 2005-2006
• Provided leadership for research programs and scholarly efforts. Assisted the Dean with developing policies and procedures for the evaluation of faculty. Monitored and upheld the policies concerning personnel within the College.
• Key projects initiated:
1. Streamlined the internal grant review process.
2. Provided leadership to include PRISM Strategy 10 (work with teachers in schools) in our faculty evaluation documents; COST was the first College of Science or Technology in the State to achieve this goal.
Associate Dean of Student and Academic Programs, COST, 2004-2005
• Provided leadership in the administration of enrollment management and student services of the College. Monitored and upheld the student academic policies and procedures of the College. Provided leadership in curriculum development, implementation, and assessment.
• Key project initiated:
1. Each department developed and employed at least two indirect assessments of the performance of their undergraduate majors (e.g. employer surveys, alumni surveys, senior exit interviews).

Associate Dean of Science 2000-2004
• Assisted in the management of all aspects of the Faculty (College) of Science with primary responsibility for the first year of the degree programs. Specific responsibilities included the coordination of the first year activities of eight Academic Departments, effectiveness research, mentoring students and staff, and creating/implementing retention initiatives.
• Key projects initiated:
1. Student retention survey leading to modification of building structure
2. New induction and mentoring programs for first year students.
3. Student background and results survey leading to the identification of, and assistance for, students at extreme risk of failing courses.

• Managed the yearly progress reviews of approximately 50 graduate students including review structure, student feedback, timetabling and disciplinary action.
• Key project initiated:
1. designed and implemented the review program followed by the use of focus groups and questionnaires to improve program effectiveness.
