James L. Becton, MD Pre-Medical Scholarship

Purpose: To support outstanding students whose goal is to complete a Bachelor's degree and enter medical school.

Awarded: Annually, usually late in the Fall Semester

Eligibility: Pre-medical students who meet the following requirements

• Completed at least 70 hours of coursework

• Completed 4 courses in Chemistry

• Completed 3 courses in Biology

• Completed 2 courses in Physics

• Have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher

• Provide proof of having taken or registered for the MCAT

• Provide written proof of work (voluntary or compensated) in a medical area

• Provide written proof of some type of community service
