The College
of Science and Technology (COST) Advisement Center offers one location
for first year students to meet their academic advisor and a career services
specialist. They will assist the student during the transition to college
life by addressing the student's concerns, providing support, resource
information, and referrals as well as course scheduling. |

Ten faculty advisors, two
staff advisors and a career services specialist are here to help first
year students. Our mission is to help students achieve academic and
personal excellence by doing the following:

Provide
academic advisement on major requirements, course selection, and registration.

Provide
a friend on the faculty that may address concerns and provide support.
Students meet with their faculty advisor twice a semester.

Provide
meaningful interaction and mentoring by faculty and other students.

Offer
on-site career services counselor.
-
Offer
workshops on study skills, time management, introduction to resources
on campus, and other important topics that impact students.

Promote
usage of all resources that Georgia Southern University offers.

Provide
information on scholarship offered by COST departments.
-
Monitor
and counsel students’ academic progression.
